• morphology
• glucose level
• iron
• ferritin
• total iron-binding capacity (TIBC)
• FT3, FT4, TSH
• total protein
• antibodies ANA

In case of polytrichosis in other body parts and menstrual disorder it is recommended to perform the following examinations:

• prolactin
• progesterone
• testosterone

Skin biopsy

In some cases it is reasoned to collect a fragment of skin together with connective tissue hair sheath for histopathology.
